About James
James Brenan Rothschild enters his senior season as one of the most underrated kicking prospects in the 2027 recruiting class after committing to the University of Pennsylvania. The Pennsylvania native has quietly developed into one of the class’s biggest sleepers through his exceptional technique, natural ball striking, and consistent mechanics. While he may not receive the same national attention as some of the higher-profile prospects, his film consistently demonstrates the qualities that translate to long-term collegiate success. With his recruitment complete, Rothschild now has the opportunity to finish his high school career with a breakout senior season before beginning his Ivy League career.
KT Evaluation
Evaluated Jul 25, 2026James Brenan Rothschild is one of the purest ball strikers in the 2027 class. His mechanics are polished, efficient, and repeatable, allowing him to consistently produce a beautiful football with outstanding trajectory. What immediately stands out is his technique. Rothschild does an excellent job of staying back on the football throughout his swing, creating outstanding leverage while naturally accelerating up through contact. His finish is smooth, balanced, and confident, producing one of the cleanest swings you’ll find in this recruiting class. Everything about his operation looks effortless. He never appears rushed, maintains excellent rhythm through his approach, and trusts his mechanics from start to finish. Those technical details separate him from many kickers his age and give him an extremely high ceiling as he continues to develop physically. His refined form and natural ball striking are exactly the type of traits that consistently translate to success at the collegiate level. KT Recruiting Evaluation James Brenan Rothschild is one of the biggest sleepers in the 2027 recruiting class. We absolutely love his mechanics. His operation is clean, his swing is one of the best in the class, and the way he stays behind the football before driving up through contact is advanced for a high school specialist. Those are habits that are difficult to teach and often separate good kickers from great ones. Penn landed an outstanding prospect with tremendous long-term upside. As Rothschild continues to gain strength and experience, we believe his game has another level to reach. Don’t be surprised if he outplays his recruiting ranking over the next several years. His technique, confidence, and pure ball-striking ability give him every opportunity to develop into one of the premier kickers in the Ivy League, and we believe his best football is still ahead of him.
